Job Description

Environmental Consulting & Technology Inc. seeks an Environmental Construction Support Technician to provide oversight and monitoring for construction projects across the Central U.S., primarily in Arkansas and surrounding states. Responsibilities include conducting site investigations, interpreting data, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience or a relevant degree, along with a valid driver's license. Extensive travel (80-90%) is required.
ECT is looking to grow our Natural Resources team with Environmental Construction Support (ECS) Technicians. ECS Techs will provide support for various projects within the Central region of the United States, specializing in environmental oversight and monitoring support for construction projects. Project locations may include Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Wisconsin.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Conduct environmental construction oversight/monitoring on renewable construction projects throughout the Central United States.
• Work efficiently and independently in the field with limited immediate oversight.
• Interpret data collected in the field.
• Stay current with applicable state and Federal regulations, related to environmental construction oversight, as needed.
• Conduct site investigations, ecological surveys, and threatened and endangered species habitat assessments, as needed.
• May also assist with wetland, stream, threatened and endangered species issues and/or surveys on projects.
• Be a positive member of the team and encourage communication and coordination across ECT offices and service lines.
• Be a mentor and active member of the team in terms of technical training, product quality and health & safety.

Education & Experience:
• One of two options below:
• 2-5 years of experience in environmental oversight for construction projects and assisting with a variety of environmental constraints.
• A bachelor’s degree in environmental, ecological, or biological related studies (construction experience is a plus).
• SWPPP training and experience, preferred, but not required.
• Renewable energy construction experience, preferred, but not required.

Job Requirements:
• Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel extensively, if needed (80-90%), via driving or flying, to provide oversight at construction sites, conduct fieldwork, and Client meetings.
• Travel out of town and overnight to different states within the Central region of the United States.
• Working in varying outdoor weather conditions, which may include extreme temperatures and working in/around wet environments.
• Ability to work long hours within a day and outside a standard M-F schedule, if needed.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, pull, hike, and sit or stand for extended periods of time, if needed.
• One of two options below:
• Strong technical knowledge base in construction environmental oversight, with the ability to learn technical knowledge in wetlands, streams, and wildlife.
• Strong technical knowledge base in wetlands, streams, and wildlife, with the ability to learn technical knowledge in construction environmental oversight.
• Technical report reading and writing is a plus.
• Communicate with Clients and speak in front of large groups with exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
