Job Description

Propulsion Controls Engineering LLC is seeking an Environmental, Safety & Health Technician I in San Diego, CA. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations in various industrial settings related to ship repair. Candidates should have a high school diploma, knowledge of OSHA regulations, and strong communication skills. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The position is full-time with a salary range of $20.20–29.48 per hour.
Propulsion Controls Engineering has a current openning for a Environmental, Safety & Health Technician I at our San Diego, California location. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.

ESH Technician Job Summary:

Serves as an environmental and safety resource for facility and subcontractor personnel working in a variety of industrial fields associated with ship repair. The areas include: on board sea going vessels and ships; industrial shops; dry docks;, etc., ensuring compliance with established Federal OSHA, State OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Maritime regulations and/or requirements

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:
• High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience.

Experience and Knowledge:
• Ability to work at a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must possess knowledge of OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910, 1915 and NAVSEA Standard Items.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Maritime Knowledge (preferred)
• Knowledge of proper investigating and reporting of incidents.
• Strong communicator
• Ability to resolve complaints and negotiate with others.
