About the position

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees at a manufacturing facility located 45 minutes from Wichita, KS. This position is vital for developing and implementing comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental programs tailored to the specific needs of the plant, which employs approximately 400 individuals. The EHS Manager will be responsible for creating a culture of safety within the organization, ensuring that all safety policies align with the company's mission and operational objectives. In this role, the EHS Manager will oversee compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements, ensuring that the facility adheres to local, state, and federal safety standards. This includes conducting regular reviews of internal safety policies and practices to ensure they remain current and effective. The EHS Manager will also conduct hazard and risk assessments, making recommendations to senior management for necessary amendments to safety policies and procedures. Additionally, the EHS Manager will serve as a key resource for safety support, supplies, and information, managing initiatives such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and Safety Incentive programs. The role requires maintaining the OSHA 300 log and other required reports, ensuring compliance with all necessary postings. Staying informed about current and emerging technical and professional aspects of EHS will be essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities
• Develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all Safety policies and programs critical to the organization's Mission and objectives.

• Oversee and enforce compliance with all regulatory and company Safety compliance requirements.

• Review internal Safety policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate; conduct hazard and risk assessments and make recommendations to senior management.

• Serve as a resource to the organization for Safety support, supplies, and information.

• Manage the company's Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), and Safety Incentive initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and Safety Standards promulgated by local, state, and federal agencies.

• Maintain OSHA 300 log and other required reports and ensure compliance with required postings.

• Stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of this position.

Requirements
• BS Degree in Safety or related field.

• 5+ years hands-on safety and EHS experience in a manufacturing plant.

• Professional knowledge of federal standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT) for the manufacturing environment.

• Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
