Job Overview:

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist plays a vital role in promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across ArborWorks' operational teams. This position is highly hands-on, requiring frequent in-field engagement with crews across multiple states. The EH&S Specialist conducts safety assessments, facilitates training, ensures adherence to OSHA and ANSI standards, and supports continuous safety improvement initiatives. This role requires extensive travel and strong communication skills to effectively engage employees at all levels across our service territory.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field-based safety observations and assessments for new and current employees across all classifications.
• Participate in daily tailboard meetings to reinforce safe work practices and deliver relevant safety messaging.
• Provide infield coaching, training, and follow-up to ensure understanding and compliance with safety procedures.
• Assist in incident investigations and submit detailed and timely reports in accordance with company policy.
• Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ANSI standards, OSHA regulations, and client/customer safety requirements.
• Utilize digital tools, apps, and company software to document observations and reports.
• Promote and support ArborWorks' commitment to a safe work environment for all employees.

Position Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience, including at least 1 year as a Qualified Line Clearance Tree Trimmer.
• Completed Foreperson test with a minimum passing score of 70%.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License and ability to meet all company vehicle operation requirements.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• OSHA 10 or 30 Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• CTSP (Certified Treecare Safety Professional) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Proficiency in using digital tools such as apps, smartphones, tablets, and computers for documentation and communication.
• Demonstrated track record of safe work practices and the ability to lead by example.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the company’s service territory (e.g., MN, CO, WI, KY).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
• ISA Certification (Certified Arborist or related credential).
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B.
