Job Description
Dalkia UK is seeking a full-time Environment and Sustainability Manager to oversee environmental performance for their contract with EDF Energy. The role involves developing and implementing sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and advising on pollution prevention and waste management. This home-based role requires frequent travel across the UK. Candidates should have experience in sustainability within Facilities Management and possess relevant qualifications.
Dalkia UK have a fantastic opportunity for an Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Dalkia are a facilities management company. We are seeking a Sustainability professional to oversee the environmental performance and across our contract with our parent company, EDF Energy. You will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development, and will lead the sustainability agenda to identify and develop solutions that support our Client’s NET Zero aspirations.
This is a home-based national role with travel to our offices and various project sites across the UK as needed, so you will need to be comfortable with frequent travel and occasional overnight stays.
Hours of Work
· Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Overview of Responsibilities
· Ensure site compliance with all requirements stipulated within Environmental Management systems including all legislation
· Capture environmental and sustainability data and compile reports for Dalkia and EDF
· Lead on providing advice on pollution prevention, waste reduction and management and the prevention of environmental incidents
· Lead on supporting and advising all Facilities Management and Project Teams on all sustainability and environmental aspects and impacts
· Work closely with the client to support them with their Net Zero sustainability strategies.
· Be the subject matter expert on sustainable initiatives, energy efficiency and retrofit schemes, keeping up to date with new initiatives.
· Lead and organise site audits across the contract and duty of care audits with sub-contractors
· Work closely with the rest of the QSHE team to ensure operational risk is assessed and effective controls are in place
· Be responsible for producing Key Performance Reports to meet compliance obligations for operational permits
· Create before and after case studies demonstrating the improvements made and the carbon efficient outcomes as a result of the works completed.
· Lead and promote environmental and sustainability awareness through training, briefings, poster campaigns, initiatives and other communication methods
· Lead the sustainability agenda, developing the strategy and journey ahead
· Work closely with the client and Business Development Team to identify opportunities around Sustainability.
· Develop and maintain a pipeline of opportunities in order to support the achievement of client net zero targets.
Essential
· IEMA Environmental Management
· ISO 14001 Awareness
· IT Literate in MS Office tools
· Experience of working within Facilities Management / Projects space
· Experience of embedding sustainability and environmental management into an organisation
· Experience of delivering sustainable initiatives and schemes with proven carbon footprint reduction
· Experience of Sustainability and retrofit management, including best and common practice

· IOSH Leading or Managing Sustainably
· IOSH / NEBOSH
