The Joyce Foundation seeks a collaborative, strategic Program Officer with climate and clean energy policy expertise to manage its Climate Solutions grantmaking within the Environment Program. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the Foundation’s investments in state climate and clean energy policy and implementation in the Great Lakes region, with an initial focus on supporting an equitable transition to carbon-free electric power systems by 2040. The Program Officer will also work closely with the Program Director to develop recommendations for the Environment Program’s next strategic plan.
In addition to its grantmaking activities, the Foundation often convenes local, state, regional, and national thought leaders and climate policy experts to share ideas and identify new opportunities. The Program Officer will bring enthusiasm along with strong content knowledge of state climate and clean energy policy, including familiarity with environmental justice issues and equitable decarbonization strategies. The Program Officer will develop relationships with other donors, seeking joint opportunities for co-funding. The goal of these activities is to scale up the Foundation’s impact and support efforts to address the long-term environmental challenges that threaten the next generation in the Great Lakes region.#J-18808-Ljbffr
