This permanent, full-time role involves overseeing environmental performance, compliance programs, and incident analytics. The candidate will lead a team to improve the Environment Framework, manage data systems, and develop training programs. The position is hybrid, allowing for some flexibility in work location. The salary ranges from $127,900 to $161,800 annually.

What you’ll do
The Environment Performance and Analytics Lead is accountable for overseeing the functioning, continuous improvement, and delivery of environment information and training, environment compliance assurance programs, environment incident analytics and reporting.
The successful candidate will lead a team to develop and deliver on management of the Environment Framework through audits, evaluations and verifications, lead the management of the Environment Incident Management System including leading Environment incident investigations, analyzing and reporting on environmental performance, and supporting business groups, employees, and contractors by leading the training program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads and directs a team of environment analysts and professionals to deliver on the Environmental Performance work plan, including budgeting and resourcing as well as ensuring appropriate team and individual performance and development.
• Oversees and directs the Environmental Framework, incorporating compliance, business requirements and business goals as well as working with the leadership team to ensure the functioning of all elements of the environment framework.
This includes developing, building and overseeing the sustainment and continual improvement of enterprise level governance, environmental assurance, the environment incident management system, and other elements.
• Oversees and directs the reporting function for Environment Performance, including ensuring technical leadership and quality assurance for environment reporting, analytics, environment data usage and related system across BC Hydro. This role is responsible for leading the development and use of key performance metrics and data, performance measurement, benchmark identification and related activities.
• This role is the lead for functioning and performance of related data systems, such as the Environment Incident Management System, and management of data records to ensure that the organization and the Board has timely access to accurate information related to environmental performance.
• Leads and collaborates with responsible business groups and key business units across BC Hydro to develop and sustain the Environment Training Program, covering all environmental training delivered to employees and contractors.
• Oversee and review key team deliverables, that include materials prepared for senior leadership and the Board, reports and communications for overall quality, technical and descriptive accuracy; ensure follow up with originators for clarification, corrections, and to provide guidance on reporting, data and information input requirements.
• As a part of the Environment Framework, leads and directs the Environmental Compliance Assurance Program with associated audits, benchmarking, metrics and investigations.
• Maintains and improves the centralized, integrated and standardized processes and management of environmental records and content to ensure the organization has reliable, accessible, legally sound and relevant information about control of hazards, environmental laws and regulations, rules, technical and performance standards as well as effective communication methods (i.e. EnviroHub) and search capabilities to provide operational users, decision makers and regulators with required information on a timely basis.
What you bring
• A Bachelor’s degree in a field of Natural Resource Management, Sciences, Engineering, Business or Public Administration, or related degrees. A Master's degree in a related field is an asset.
• A minimum of 10 years related experience in progressively more responsible positions, preferably in an electric utility, including experience in environmental policy, performance measurement, relationship management and/or experience managing /leading relevant large projects or initiatives.
• A combination of required post-secondary education, training and experience may be considered.
• Knowledge of risk analysis, management systems, auditing, ideally related to environmental regulations in BC or Canada.
• Specialist knowledge of strategic Environment-related matters, (utility context preferred) which could include environmental risks, procedures, standards, and may work with Subject Matter Experts to develop, or oversee the development of training, communications, etc. would be an asset.
• Well-developed analytical, research and report preparation skills.
• Well-developed oral, written, and facilitation skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills, with proven ability to understand stakeholders' points of view, and incorporate them to influence change.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.

• This is for one (1) M&P Full-Time Regular (FTR) P4 opportunity, based out of our Edmonds office location in Burnaby, BC.
• Please be advised that this role has been assessed as safety sensitive and pre-qualification alcohol and drug testing will be required as a pre-condition to employment.
• A condition of employment for this position is to maintain your Class 5 Driver's License in good standing.
• Please note some travel will be required in the role.
