Job Description

Hill International (Middle East) Ltd is seeking an Environment Manager in Abu Dhabi. The role involves environmental planning, assessment, and compliance, coordinating with teams and consultants to implement strategies. Responsibilities include ensuring adherence to policies, developing biodiversity plans, and fostering a sustainability culture. Candidates should have a relevant degree, 10-12 years of experience, and knowledge of UAE regulations. This is a full-time position.
This role requires responsibility for environmental planning, assessment, and compliance, along with identifying and establishing environmental initiatives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with internal teams, as well as liaising with consultants and contractors to implement environmental strategies and programs, and monitoring progress to ensure targets are met.Responsibilities:Identify environmental planning philosophies and requirements at design stage.Identify environmental assessment requirements relevant to projects and ensure engagement of appropriate reputable environmental consultants for the works.Ensure compliance of policies and guidelines and authority permit conditions.Ensure that all project personnel are aware of and adhere to environmental policies and procedures.Assist in the development of biodiversity conservation plans and habitat restoration strategies to enhance ecological connectivity, protect sensitive habitats, and promote species diversity within development areas.Help in creating a sustainability culture within the company departments. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in an environment related field, such as Environmental Science, Biology, Geology etc.10-12 years of experience, with a minimum 3 years in a senior environmental management role.Pre-construction environmental design and planning experience.Broad knowledge base across all environmental disciplines.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a big picture understanding.Specialist in an environmental discipline (Air Quality, Noise, Hydrogeology, etc.)Proficient in using GIS software, including ArcMap, QGIS, or other related tools.Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi & UAE environmental regulations and guidelinesExperience in the context of Real Estate Development.
