About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading international renewable energy developer to help grow their team. They are putting together the core members of their team and are looking for a HSE Manager to work on their renewable energy projects.

Job Summary:

The HSE Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing Health, Safety, and Environmental programs for the Philippines. This role ensures that all operations adhere to global HSE standards, local regulations, and industry best practices. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement in safety culture, environmental compliance, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
• HSE Strategy Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor Philippines' HSE policies, ensuring alignment with the global HSE strategy and compliance with local regulations.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all sites comply with applicable local and international HSE laws, regulations, and standards.
• Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks, hazards, and safety issues, and develop preventive and corrective measures. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across sites.
• Incident Management: Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. Ensure timely reporting of incidents to relevant stakeholders.
• HSE Audits: Conduct regular audits and inspections at all sites to ensure HSE compliance and best practices. Develop action plans to address non-conformities.
• Environmental Stewardship: Oversee and promote sustainability and environmental initiatives, ensuring that the Philippines is minimizing its environmental footprint and complying with environmental regulations.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leadership, operations teams, external regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders to promote a strong HSE culture.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7-15 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental management role.
• Strong understanding of local HSE regulations and cultural factors affecting safety practices.
• Proven track record of managing HSE in a complex, multi-site, and multi-national organization.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and developing corrective/preventive actions.

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to risk management and incident prevention.

• Attention to Detail: Ensures all safety programs are thoroughly implemented and monitored.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to align HSE initiatives with broader corporate goals and objectives.
