Job Description

HTI is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Manager for their Augusta, GA facility. The role involves developing EHS programs in a heavy industrial setting, ensuring compliance with OSHA and ISO standards, and promoting a zero-incident culture. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of EHS experience, and strong leadership skills. The position requires on-site work in a high-risk environment and may involve travel to Europe.

We’re seeking a strategic EHS Program Manager to join our growing team in Augusta and help shape the long-term direction of environmental, health, and safety initiatives at our new US facility. This role offers the opportunity to build comprehensive EHS programs from the ground up in a heavy industrial setting and work closely with corporate leadership to drive a zero-incident culture.

What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree required; candidates without a degree but with outstanding program-building experience may be considered
• 5+ years of progressive EHS experience, including developing and launching safety programs in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in industrial hygiene and OSHA compliance; ISO 14001/45001 experience highly preferred
• Experience with incident investigation, EHS audits, and compliance reporting
• Effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills with a strong team-oriented mindset
• Prior exposure to heavy industrial or processing environments such as metals, paper, or chemicals
• Willingness to work on-site in a high-risk environment involving lead exposure, molten metals, and heavy equipment
• Ability to travel to Europe (first year likely includes a visit to a European site)
• No direct reports initially, but high collaboration with safety personnel and indirect leadership responsibilities

What You Will Do
• Lead strategic development and planning of all EHS programs and systems aligned with ISO standards and corporate goals
• Serve as the upstream owner of policy, procedure, and program design, while partnering with an on-site Field EHS Manager for execution
• Develop site-specific training requirements and program frameworks; ensure consistent tracking and compliance
• Oversee and enhance industrial hygiene programs (e.g., noise assessments, lead exposure tracking, respirator fit-testing)
• Create risk assessments, conduct audits, and implement actionable improvements
• Interface with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies as needed
• Guide new initiatives related to sustainability and emergency response coordination with local organizations
• Provide strategic support to the Environmental Manager and collaborate across teams
• Serve as a subject matter expert for the site and contribute to a culture of safety excellence
