Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead and drive health and safety initiatives across our manufacturing or industrial operations. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Lead risk management initiatives and ensure proactive identification and mitigation of hazards.
• Conduct safety assessments, site inspections, and audits to ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, local H&S regulations).
• Investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution.
• Provide leadership, training, and coaching to team members and department heads to promote a culture of safety.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices and changing legislation.

Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven experience in risk management, regulatory compliance, and conducting safety assessments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and guide teams.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, or equivalent) considered an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience managing safety programs in a unionized environment.
