Environment & Sustainability Adviser

Amey is hiring an Environment & Sustainability Adviser for their Transport Infrastructure HSEQ Team in Sandiacre, UK. This full-time, permanent position offers hybrid working and involves providing environmental support, ensuring compliance, and developing management plans. We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join our Transport Infrastructure HSEQ Team, based in Area 7 (East Midlands), working across our Strategic Highways accounts.

This is a full time, permanent contract that offers hybrid working. The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday.

In this role, you will play an important role to enable the business to demonstrate compliance and achieve continual improvements in environment and sustainability.

This role offers you the unique opportunity to embody a collaborative approach, working with environment, carbon and sustainability professionals across Amey and others (including Clients, our key partners, and Supply Chain members) to deliver: Zero Carbon Solutions, Nature Based Solutions and Compliant, Resilient & Industry Best Practice Solutions across our value chain, helping reduce the environmental impact of our construction, operation, and maintenance activities,

What You’ll Do
• Provide environmental advice and support to operational team members helping to transfer knowledge,
• Work with other Health, Safety, Environment and Quality professionals to provide assurance to operate within the highway’s domain, reviewing and briefing changes in law and standards.
• Supporting the development of effective environmental and carbon management plans.
• Undertaking environmental permission applications (authorised waste, consents to discharge/abstract).
• Undertake environmental performance monitoring (including carbon reporting), analysis, and evaluation, writing reports and making recommendations to our business leaders to drive continual improvement.
• Maintaine ISO 14001 certification of our integrated management systems.
