Sustainable Energy Systems is seeking an Entry Level Installer for renewable energy systems, primarily solar, based in Ijamsville, MD. The role involves physical labor, including roofing and electrical work, often on pitched roofs. Installers will travel to job sites across several states, with work typically in 10-hour shifts. Sustainable Energy Systems is a renewable energy design and installation business based out of Frederick, Maryland, operating in the mid-Atlantic region since 2008. The company is dedicated to creating a sustainable energy future by installing the most efficient and cost-effective systems while minimizing ecological footprints. The Entry Level Installer position involves various tasks related to the installation of renewable energy systems, primarily solar. The role requires physical labor, including roofing, electrical work, and carpentry, often on pitched roofs while using climbing gear. Installers will be expected to carry loads of up to 50 lbs and utilize hand and power tools effectively. The job is physically demanding and suited for individuals who enjoy outdoor work and are committed to promoting renewable energy solutions. The position entails working 10-hour shifts, typically four days a week, with job sites located across Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Travel to job sites is provided from the Ijamsville, MD office, and occasional overnight stays may be required. The company offers a salary with daily overtime pay at 150% for hours worked beyond 10 hours per day, based on GPS data from company vehicles. Sick leave is accrued at a rate of 1 hour per week, totaling 6.5 days per year, and vacation leave begins to accrue after one year of employment. Health insurance is available after 60 days, with the employer covering a portion of the costs.

Responsibilities
• Perform roofing work as part of solar panel installation.

• Conduct electrical work related to renewable energy systems.

• Work on pitched roofs using appropriate climbing gear.

• Carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively, including impact drills and sawzalls.

• Drive trucks and trailers up to 16 feet for transportation to job sites.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion.

• Provide excellent customer service during installations.

Requirements
• Valid Driver's License is required.

• Prior construction experience is preferred, ideally 1 year.

• Experience using hand tools and power tools is necessary.

• Ability to work on pitched roofs and use climbing gear safely.

• Comfortable with physically demanding work and outdoor environments.
