About the position

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Scientist position who will report to the EHS Department in AECOM’s Germantown, Maryland. This is an entry-level position in AECOM’s Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to environmental compliance plans, environmental permitting, environmental site assessments, and subsurface investigations. Field and office work will include Phase I/Phase II environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater and wastewater permitting and monitoring and technical writing. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects.

• Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

• Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories.
,
• Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

• Conduct field work and prepare the associated reports for a wide variety of compliance projects.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this role.

• Valid US Driver's License is required for this position.

• Selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
