AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Energy Analyst to be based in our Rocky Hill, CT or Boston, MA offices. This position will support our Energy team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin November/December 2022.
Job Overview
The Energy team works on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization related initiatives for municipal, utility, and private clients. This position will support technical tasks on a variety of projects including energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy master planning, district energy systems, net-zero buildings, and building decarbonization.
The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with educational or professional experience in the energy industry. The candidate will need a strong and demonstrated interest in the topics covered by this team. This position will require an individual that is willing to perform a variety of tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
Job responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
• Data analysis to support projects related to energy efficiency, building decarbonization, renewable energy feasibility and transportation electrification
• Performing energy calculations and cost to validate energy conservation measures (ECMs) on energy auditing projects
• Energy and utility usage analysis for building decarbonization, energy efficiency, and energy management projects
• Research on solutions for client projects related to advanced and emerging energy technologies
• Preparing technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders
• Provides basic support in the areas of project controls, scheduling, scheduling analysis, earned value management, and construction inspection activities in support of projects.
• Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
• General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
• Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision.
• Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental), Environmental Science, or related field; or HS Diploma and demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Valid U.S Driver’s License required
Preferred Qualifications
• Coursework or internship experience related to any of the following:
• Energy engineering topics, such as HVAC Systems, energy management and control systems and/or performing energy calculations
• Energy generation and systems, including renewable energy
• Climate resilience and energy system decarbonization
• Microsoft Power BI experience is desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Fluency with Microsoft Office products, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Additional Information:
• Relocation is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position will primarily support project work in Connecticut.
• Travel is required for this position.
• Candidates will be asked to submit a Motor Vehicle Record screening upon hire.
