The University of Pennsylvania is seeking an exceptional professional to join its Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) team as the Director of Engineering and Energy Planning. This role will play a critical part in shaping the university's approach to sustainable practices and energy efficiency.
About the Role:
• Develop and implement comprehensive plans for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize energy-related projects
• Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors and regulatory agencies
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards
Responsibilities:
• Report directly to the Executive Director of Operations and Maintenance for FRES
• Oversight of operational and long-term engineering, project development and prioritization, utilities contracting and billing, infrastructure planning and budgeting, energy management, Power Purchase Agreements, and commissioning support for campus facilities
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to colleagues across FRES
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, students, and administrative leaders
