Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician in Coralville, IA. The role involves providing technical support for water resource projects, preparing engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil3D, and assisting with field assessments. JOB SUMMARY: The Engineering Technician will provide technical and engineering support services to the Watershed Planning and Design Department by preparing engineering plans for various types of water resource projects and assisting with field site assessments and project monitoring.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:
• Work with the lead engineer and project team during design concept development
• Ability to understand and interpret information provided by Clients and the Engineering Team to transition a design concept into engineering plans
• Prepare engineering plans and documents using AutoCAD Civil3D
• Utilize SharePoint to access drawing files and maintain an organized file system for production drawings
• Assist in data collection during field assessments and routine monitoring
• Assist in developing and updating technical reports.
• Interpret plans and specifications
• Utilize survey equipment for construction staking and observation, and topographic and/or property boundary surveys
• Inspecting construction projects for plan conformance, structures, and materials
• Communicate with clients, contractors, supervisors, and other inspectors regarding specifications and site progress. Maintain field notes and related documentation
• Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright's and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership
• Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate degree or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years of CAD design and drafting experience
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• One year of applicable work experience
• Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Preferred 7 years of relevant professional experience
• Certified Stormwater Pollution Prevention Inspector in Iowa
• Familiarity with water resource projects, specifically, green infrastructure, wetlands, and stream restoration projects
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite products utilizing the latest operating system
• Experience using ESRI products, including ArcGIS Pro and Field Maps
• Demonstrate excellent customer service focusing on rapport-building, listening, questioning and patience. Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, both technical and non-technical
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Position will require approximately 25% work outdoors and 75% work indoors
• Work outdoors is weather dependent/seasonal
• Position requires occasional long days in the field
