Holcim is seeking an Engineering Manager for Carbon Capture to oversee engineering efforts in sustainable building solutions. About the position

Join Holcim as an Engineering Manager for Carbon Capture, where you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of innovative and sustainable building solutions. This position is crucial in managing the engineering efforts on carbon capture projects, overseeing the entire project lifecycle from scoping to final investment decision. You will coordinate with various engineering firms, technology licensors, and internal functions to ensure that projects align with Holcim's strategic goals of sustainability and zero harm. Your responsibilities will include leading Front End Engineering studies for projects ranging from $10 million to over $1 billion, addressing a wide array of technical topics such as cooling technology, utilities, technology selection, and infrastructure development. You will also manage multiple studies across different countries, ensuring that all engineering activities adhere to Holcim's health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engineering activities, supporting regional business units in preparing project documentation, and interfacing with multi-disciplinary teams to develop optimal project designs. You will identify and address risks and opportunities in project development, propose innovative engineering solutions, and ensure that all engineering work is completed on schedule and meets quality standards. Additionally, you will manage project budgets, lead third-party engineering firms, and maintain transparent communication with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities
• Ensure that all projects are developed in alignment with the group's ambitions of zero harm, ensuring best-in-class health, safety, environmental and sustainability performance.

• Plan and coordinate all engineering activities and support regional business units in preparing carbon capture project documentation to obtain investment decisions.
,
• Lead and interface with experienced & multi-disciplinary engineering firms, suppliers, and operations to develop optimal projects in terms of design, layout, and operational performance.

• Identify & address risks and opportunities in technical & commercial project development to ensure maximum value creation for Holcim.
,
• Propose innovative technical concepts and apply innovative engineering approaches, solutions, and tools.
,
• Direct and manage the interface between engineering and the project's other disciplines, including process engineering, plant personnel, procurement, and contracts.

• Ensure that the engineering work on the project is completed on schedule and meets Holcim's quality standards.

• Prepare and manage project development budgets through FEED execution.
,
• Lead and monitor third-party multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting firms.
,
• Prepare SteerCom presentations and maintain on-time and transparent communication with internal stakeholders.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or process engineering.

• Proven engineering coordination experience in petrochemical, cement, or similar heavy industry, with a minimum of 10 years in industrial engineering-related fields.

• Project Management certificate (e.g., PMI or similar) is desired but not required.
,
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and equivalent Google Suite products, along with Project Management software.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience with carbon capture technologies and projects.

• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in engineering.
