Job Description

National Grid Renewables seeks an Energy Storage Markets Associate in Bloomington, MN. Responsibilities include leading economic and strategic analysis of energy storage projects, modeling project economics, and coordinating with various teams. Candidates should have 3+ years in market analysis or financial modeling within renewable energy, strong knowledge of energy markets, and a relevant bachelor's degree. What You are Actually Doing:
• Lead economic, commercial, and strategic analysis of energy storage project- and market-level opportunities
• Model energy storage project economics, including innovative and unique commercial structures
• Coordinate techno-economic optimization across engineering, procurement, finance, interconnection, and other aspects
• Interface with regulatory and policy teams to monitor and influence evolving issues impacting deployment and value of energy storage
• Support commercial efforts in RFP responses
• Ad-hoc analysis as required

What You Bring to the Table:
• 3+ years of experience in market analysis, financial modeling, or related function in renewable energy and/or energy storage
• Strong knowledge of energy markets and regulation
• Enthusiasm for novel multi-disciplinary problems
• Knowledge of MS applications required, experience with Python or similar modeling language preferred
• Good oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering, math, finance, or related fields
