About the position

The Energy Service Technician role at Gold Star FS involves providing operational support and service for the Energy Department, focusing on liquid fuels and propane. The technician is responsible for installing and maintaining customer propane systems, managing fuel and lubricant storage, and ensuring high levels of customer service through deliveries and inspections. This position requires a commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and teamwork within the department.

Responsibilities
• Installs and maintains customer propane systems, performs leak checks and regulator changeouts.

• Installs and maintains liquid fuel and lubricant storage tanks and pumps.
,
• Assists in monthly and annual inventory duties.
,
• Operates liquid fuel, propane and bulk lubricant delivery trucks as needed to maintain a high level of customer service during peak operating times.
,
• Assists in maintaining records and documentation for Energy Department Customers.
,
• Performs monthly and quarterly facility inspections and maintenance and maintains proper regulatory documentation.
,
• Delivers bulk and packaged lubricant products, and petroleum equipment as needed to assist petroleum drivers and sales specialists within assigned territory.
,
• Provides overall operational support to energy department.
,
• Adheres to and supports the company credit policy.
,
• Attends and participates in training classes and meetings as required.
,
• Maintains company vehicles and equipment, performing basic maintenance as needed.
,
• Assists with customer service, plant operations and team safety.
,
• Works with our facility teams to build unity and help accomplish company goals.
,
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
,
• Demonstrated reasoning ability to solve practical problems and handle customer inquiries and concerns.
,
• Possess a mechanical aptitude.
,
• Must obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brake endorsements.
,
• Satisfactory driving record.
,
• Attend and successfully complete the IPGA Propane Training Certification (CETP).
,
• Demonstrate essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
,
• Willingness to work hours beyond those considered 'normal' to meet seasonal demand.
,
• Ability to work in extreme weather and dusty conditions.
,
• Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
,
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
