Energy Modeller

J10 Consulting is hiring an experienced Building Energy Modeler for a 3-month contract in Dubai, UAE. Candidates should have a BSc in Mechanical or related fields, at least 5 years of experience, and proficiency in IES software. Responsibilities include monitoring energy design issues, conducting audits, advising on sustainable design, and managing energy conservation projects. Experience with LEED and energy efficiency regulations is required.
The Role
Our Multi National Design & Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for an experienced Building Energy Modeler to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on projects in the Emirates. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Building Energy Modeler conversant with IES software. a background working in a recognised PMC or Engineering Consultancy is advantageous. This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 Month Contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor energy related design issues, such as energy engineering, energy management, or sustainable design. • Advise on topics such as climate control systems, energy modelling, data logging, sustainable design, or energy auditing. • Collect data for energy conservation analyses, using jobsite observation, field inspections, or sub-metering. • Conduct energy audits to evaluate energy use and to identify conservation and cost reduction measures. • Consult with the operations and maintenance team, construction or renovation contractors or other engineers on topics such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) or Green Buildings. • Direct the implementation of energy management projects. • Identify and recommend energy savings strategies to achieve more energy efficient operation. • Monitor and analyze energy consumption. • Perform energy modelling, measurement, verification, commissioning, or retro commissioning. • Prepare energy-related reports or related documentation. • Train personnel or relevant stakeholders on topics such as energy management. • Manage the development, design, or construction of energy conservation projects to ensure acceptability of budgets and timelines, conformance to federal and local laws, or adherence to approved specifications. • Promote awareness or use of alternative or renewable energy sources. • Research renewable or alternative energy systems or technologies, such as solar thermal or photovoltaic energy. • Review architectural, mechanical, or electrical plans or specifications to evaluate energy efficiency. • Analyze, interpret, or create graphical representations of energy data, using engineering software. Inspect or monitor energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) or daylighting systems to determine energy use or potential energy savings. • Review or negotiate energy purchase agreements. • Write or install energy management routines for building automation systems .

Requirements
Building Energy Modeler Experience: • Minimum of BSc in Mechanical or related • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. • Must be fully conversant with IES software (Essential) • Must demonstrated knowledge in energy efficiency and energy modelling technology, and regulatory concepts and requirements. • LEED Accredited Professional (or ability to progress to) with LEED Management Experience. • Should have experience or involvement with USGBC/ GBCI. • Should have experience in interpreting local and global regulatory requirements. • Must be able to prioritize and manage tasks. • Possess excellent software skills for preparation of relevant reports and presentations. • Must be an innovator to develop new ideas to enhance the Energy initiative.
