The role involves site visits for data gathering and communication with clients and staff. Candidates should have a relevant degree and 2-5 years of experience in energy engineering or HVAC design.
About the position
Iconergy is seeking a dependable Energy Engineer to join our design-build team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our senior engineers in project development. This involves gathering data from on-site audits, performing engineering calculations for efficiency and facility improvement measures, and designing HVAC and plumbing systems using CAD software. The Energy Engineer will also be responsible for energy modeling and reporting, focusing on retrofit projects aimed at enhancing facility operations, particularly in terms of energy and water efficiency. Our projects often incorporate renewable energy solutions whenever feasible, addressing various systems including HVAC, lighting, controls, water fixtures, and ancillary systems such as distributed generation and cooking kitchens. The projects are primarily located in the Rocky Mountain region, especially Colorado and its neighboring states, but may extend to other areas as needed. In this role, you will accompany senior staff on site visits and audits, which will involve collecting data from equipment inventories, conducting on-site measurements, and interviewing clients. You will gather and input utility bill data for electric, gas, water, and other energy meters, analyze efficiency measures for potential utility savings, and perform energy modeling using Energy Plus software. Additionally, you will conduct design calculations for HVAC and plumbing systems and draft these systems in AutoCAD or Revit. Your responsibilities will also include assisting in the preparation of reports and other communications for clients, as well as maintaining daily communication with Iconergy staff to review the status of your work. The ideal candidate will thrive in a supportive team environment that encourages independent work, critical thinking, and the development of new processes. You will have the opportunity to practice and refine your leadership skills, openly discuss concerns, and propose solutions to challenges as they arise.
