About the position
The Energy Efficiency Sales Consultant at New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) is responsible for providing inside marketing and sales support to achieve new customer goals, margin, and customer satisfaction standards. This role involves qualifying new customer leads, promoting incentive programs, and collaborating with various departments to maximize program efficiency.
Responsibilities
• Qualify new customer leads and follow up with potential customers and contractors.

• Promote current incentive programs and rebates.
,
• Perform outbound calls and emails to stimulate interest in energy efficiency programs.
,
• Attain market segment performance growth goals.
,
• Achieve targeted customer satisfaction goals.
,
• Develop program interest and provide segmented market feedback.
,
• Identify appropriate programs based on project size and customer needs.
,
• Build strong relationships with co-workers, contractors, and customers.
,
• Collaborate with Engineering, Outreach, and Operations departments to maximize program efficiency.

• Assist with other duties related to project development and customer services as needed.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business sales or marketing preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years of prior sales and/or utility experience required.

• Knowledge of residential and commercial energy consuming equipment and natural gas utility preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
,
• Excellent persuasive skills and driven to close deals.

• Good networking skills and ability to multitask.

• Ability to devise sales and growth strategies.

• Ability to explain product features and benefits effectively.

• Excellent organization and lead management capabilities.

• Experience working in a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
