Mars Solutions Group is hiring a skilled Energy Auditor to join a dynamic team passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability! We're looking for a certified Energy Auditor who can make a real impact by helping homeowners reduce energy consumption and improve the comfort and safety of their homes.

Title: Energy Auditor

Location: Rockford, Illinois

Job Type: Direct hire

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct energy audits in residential homes, performing detailed testing and diagnostics to identify energy-saving opportunities and potential hazards.

Analyze household energy consumption patterns and recommend solutions to maximize efficiency.

Educate clients on energy usage, helping them make informed decisions that lower costs and improve their property.

Perform tests using tools like blower doors, infrared cameras, and thermal imaging.

Work in a variety of environments, including tight spaces and challenging weather conditions.

Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards while identifying opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:
• Certification as an Energy Auditor (BPI, Certified Energy Manager, or similar).
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a residential home inspector.
• Strong understanding of building systems (insulation, HVAC, ventilation, air barriers, windows).
• Familiarity with building science concepts such as thermal enclosure and leakage testing.
• Valid driver's license.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Excellent reporting skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency building codes, construction practices, and building science.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, able to relate to clients and effectively explain complex concepts.
• Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools like infrared cameras and blower doors.
• Solid grasp of building physics and thermodynamics, particularly around heat transfer, moisture control, and air quality
