About the position

The Energy Analyst position at Airgas involves leading the deployment of the 'Energy Flex Capture' program within the Merchant Gases division. The role focuses on reducing power costs through load management programs and ensuring that energy contracts are leveraged effectively. The analyst will work closely with various teams to monitor energy consumption, establish efficiency targets, and participate in decarbonization efforts.

Responsibilities
• Lead the deployment of Air Liquide's 'Energy Flex Capture' program within Airgas Merchant Gases.

• Support Smart Innovative Operations (SIO), Supply Chain, and Distribution and Logistics (D&L) teams in reducing power costs.

• Monitor individual plant operations and understand energy consumption patterns.
,
• Establish and track energy use efficiency targets and KPI performance targets for energy reduction.
,
• Implement participation in load control and demand response opportunities.
,
• Ensure energy contracts are fully leveraged to reduce overall power costs.
,
• Maintain and improve systems to track electrical system load and cost information for KPI purposes.
,
• Assist in market data analysis for price risk mitigation.
,
• Develop understanding of ISO operations and cost drivers.
,
• Assist in decarbonization efforts including load management and carbon accounting.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Data Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related degree.

• Previous experience in energy trading or analytics with an interest in industrial energy management.
,
• Experience in data management, manufacturing operations, or integrated supply chains.
,
• Comfortable with basic statistics and business analytics concepts.

• Previous experience with SAP.

• Experience with energy management systems.
