Job Description

ZeroAvia is seeking an Electronic and Test Engineer in Everett, WA, to contribute to the development of hydrogen-electric powertrains for zero-emission aviation. Responsibilities include designing and validating power electronic circuits, integrating subsystems, and conducting high voltage testing. Candidates should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with high voltage systems, PCB design, and aerospace standards. Engineering designs our next-generation hydrogen electric engines. Working across Hydrogen, Propulsion and Integration divisions, they solve technical problems and help decarbonize aviation by finding solutions for electric propulsion, hydrogen storage, fuel cell technology, power distribution, thermal management and more.

Requirements

Position Duties:
• Technical delivery of power electronic circuits through concept design and validation
• Delivery of electronics design through the entire development cycle
• Development of electronic hardware systems including system integration
• Defining component and system level design verification plan and reports (DVPR’s);
• Designing, planning and testing of power electronic components including electric machines, high voltage inverter drives and DC-DC converters
• Development and integration of various subsystems, ensuring successful integration with the other subsystems within the drivetrain
• Interfacing with suppliers and other engineering teams to support subsystem level requirements capture
• High voltage switching performance characterization and evaluation of silicon carbide (SiC) power module for high speed inverter drive
• Design and schematic capture of power electronic converters and electronic circuits using Altium designer
• Simulation analysis, design, and verification of the circuits employed in PCB design using LTspice, Tina TI, and SIMPLIS
• Accelerated life cycle, high voltage, high temperature testing of inverter assembly components and circuit boards
• Integration testing of electrical sub assembly of power stage, control stage, sensing and high voltage circuit boards leading to drivetrain tests

Role Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, plus one (1) year of experience in the following required
• Experience in design and testing of high voltage (500V - 800V) systems
• Designing measurement circuits
• Implementing fault detection/protection systems
• Micro-controller hardware implementation
• Electronic schematic capture
• Motor control schemes
• PCB Design and creating and optimizing PCB layouts
• Designing to meet EMC requirements for EDU components
• Design and qualification of systems to aerospace standards such as DO-160
• Safe use of high voltage test equipment such as PSUs, power analyzers, motor test dynos, etc.
• Using laboratory test equipment: Spectrum Analyser, Signal Analyser, Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, and DVM
• Matlab ● Simulink ● PSpice ● Altium designer ● LTspice ● Tina TI ● SIMPLIS ● Simetrix

Benefits

The wage scale or salary range for this position is $116,600. In addition to the foregoing base compensation, additional compensation and benefits are available to employees and eligible family members (as applicable) including the following:

🤒 Long-Term Disability: If your disability extends beyond 180 days, LTD Coverage for up to 60% of your earnings.

🏖️ Paid Time Off: Eligible employees may accrue up to 120 hours per year (15 days) and may borrow up to 40 hours (5 days).

🩺 Sick Time: Eligible employees may accrue up to 40 hours, per year (5 days)

🏖️ Paid Holidays: 12 observed holidays, per calendar year.

🛩️ The Fly Club: up to $2,000 of reimbursement towards flying lessons to all full-time staff
