Job Description
Hydro Tasmania is seeking an Electrician in Devonport, TAS, to support maintenance and refurbishment of hydropower generating equipment. The role requires a Certificate III in Electrotechnology and experience in industrial maintenance. Competitive salary starting at $89,558 plus benefits, including allowances and flexible working arrangements. The position involves working on-site at various hydropower stations and includes opportunities for mentoring and travel within the region.

Who are you?
You are a highly motivated and engaged electrical tradesperson ready to take the next step in your career within an organisation that offers exciting opportunities. With experience in maintaining industrial production equipment, conducting condition-based assessments, and following routine maintenance schedules, you’ll play a key role in our hydropower stations.
You hold a Certificate III in Electrotechnology and ideally a Tasmanian Electrical Practitioners Licence (or an equivalent interstate licence). A current driver’s licence and strong computer skills are also essential.
About The Role
To put it simply… support production through maintenance and refurbishment of generating equipment. Based out of Gowrie Park, you’ll be working across a range of hydropower stations all with their own story. Alongside your team of pros, you’ll maintain hydropower assets that play a key role in Tasmania’s renewable future.
As an Electrician, you will be…
✓ Conducting operational repairs and preventative maintenance,
✓ Providing mentoring and supervision to junior Technicians/Assistants and Apprentices,
✓ Performing basic operational activities and assisting with appropriate isolations,
✓ Participating in local area on call roster,
✓ Undertaking regular equipment inspection regimes,
