Job Description
Fortescue is hiring an Electrical Technician for their Kidlington, UK location. The role involves supporting the Engineering team with the assembly and maintenance of prototype electrical systems. An opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Technician to join our Kidlington based Prototype department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About The Role
The purpose of the role is to support our Engineering team with assembly and maintenance of prototype and low volume electrical assembly and systems, including trouble shooting.
What You Will Do
• Developing build process and build work instructions.
• Maintaining accurate, traceable build records.
• Ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.
• Using computerised systems to maintain build data integrity.
• Complying with all Health, Safety and Environmental guidance and regulations.
• Harness assembly including Autosport looms
• HeV wire assembly
• Sensor and instrument calibration
• CAN network checks
• CANalyzer
• Fault finding
• Offsite tests as required
About You
• Electrical & Mechanical technical knowledge & ability.
• Apprenticeship / NVQ / BTEC or Degree in relevant engineering discipline.
• Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to use your initiative and respond quickly to problems.
• Flexible working approach.
• Organised, precise and pragmatic approach to working.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain high standards of staff and department presentation, as appropriate for a facility visited by potential customers and other VIP’s.
