Electrical Engineer

AVA Energy is seeking an Electrical Substation Design Engineer in Rose Hill, VA. The role involves leading the design lifecycle of high-voltage substations, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with project managers and engineers. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, over 5 years of relevant experience, and knowledge of substation equipment and industry standards. This is a full-time position.
AVA Energy is currently supporting our client who is a market leader in the Utility infrastructure industry. Currently supporting our client with their requirements for an Electrical Substation Design Engineer vacancy.

In this role you will be collaborating with stakeholders, such as, operations managers and project development teams, providing planning and execution of high-voltage infrastructure.

Role responsibilities:
• Lead the design lifecycle of high-voltage substations under EPC contracts.
• Provide technical guidance on the development, design, and installation of high-voltage substations.
• Resolve technical issues related to substation operations.
• Work closely with project managers, and Engineers to meet timelines and budgets

To be successful in this role you will have:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design of high-voltage substations.
• Strong knowledge of substation equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, protective relays) from 15kV to 345kV.
• Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, NESC, ANSI, NEC).
