Job Description

The Electric Vehicle Charging Technician is responsible for on-site repair and maintenance of EV charging stations. This role primarily focuses on ensuring optimal functionality of charging equipment and delivering exceptional service to our dedicated clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prioritize site safety and ensure compliance with all safety protocols.
• Perform electrical system maintenance and repairs on EV charging equipment.
• Document site field reports and maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Interact with clients to confirm completion of work and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Conduct diagnostics and troubleshooting for electrical issues, adhering to eMobility standards.
• Follow detailed repair manuals and service bulletins to complete repairs efficiently.
• Test and evaluate equipment performance and conduct maintenance on a range of chargers, from Level 2 to DC Fast Chargers.
• Evaluate system performance issues, isolate faults, and handle repairs effectively.
• Collaborate with the eMobility Service team to maintain maintenance schedules and optimize operational routes.
• Conduct safety assessments, identify hazards, and complete necessary safety documentation.
• Be ready for both scheduled and emergency response work when required.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in servicing electrical power equipment or formal electrical/electronic training.
• Proficient in electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting; knowledge of EV chargers is preferred.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements, including LOTO, Arc Flash, and JHA/JSA.
• A valid state driver's license is necessary.
• Experience with Salesforce is an added advantage.

Our Ideal Candidate:
• Knowledgeable in AC/DC conversions, meters, circuit boards, and respective equipment.
• Experience with charging stations from manufacturers such as ABB, ChargePoint, and Siemens.
• Able to analyze and resolve problems independently with high urgency and results orientation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills combined with technical aptitude.
• Tech-savvy and eager to learn about innovative technologies in the industry.
• Deep understanding of eMobility technologies is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.

Working Conditions:
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours/weekends as required.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically as needed.
• This position is primarily based in the San Francisco, CA area, with occasional travel for training and customer support.
