Farmscape is hiring a full-time Edible Landscape Gardener in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves organic gardening practices across various sites, including maintenance of gardens and fruit trees. Candidates must have at least two years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and a reliable vehicle for travel between locations. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to perform manual labor outdoors.
About the position

Farmscape is seeking a dedicated full-time urban farmer and maintenance gardener to join our team in Los Angeles. This role involves the application of organic maintenance practices across various gardens, including raised bed gardens, fruit trees, and native landscaping. As a maintenance gardener, you will work independently, visiting assigned gardens on a weekly basis to ensure they are well-maintained and thriving. This position requires significant driving, as you will be responsible for traveling to multiple garden locations throughout the city. Candidates must reside in Los Angeles to facilitate this requirement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in horticulture or agriculture, with at least two years of real experience in landscaping, farming, or vegetable gardening. Experience with orchard management is preferred, as you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of fruit trees. A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle are essential for this role, as you will be required to transport yourself and any necessary tools or materials to various job sites. In addition to gardening tasks, you will also be responsible for maintaining service logs and providing excellent customer service to our clients. This includes communicating effectively with 10-15 weekly garden maintenance clients, following established communication procedures, and representing Farmscape in a professional manner. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this position, as you will need to manage multiple tasks and client expectations simultaneously. You will also be expected to attend staff meetings, maintenance sessions, and training as required, and perform other duties as assigned by your manager.

Requirements
• 2+ years of real experience with landscaping, farming, vegetable gardening, or horticulture required; 3+ years preferred

• Valid driver's license and a working vehicle required

• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform manual labor outdoors
,
• Ability to learn and adapt to Farmscape best practices

• Friendly and clear communicator
