Job Description

Umwelt Australia Pty Limited is seeking expressions of interest for Field Ecologists in Newcastle, NSW. This role involves conducting ecological surveys, identifying flora and fauna, and building stakeholder relationships. Candidates should have a degree in environmental science or related fields, a passion for ecology, and be willing to travel for fieldwork. About the Role

As a Field Ecologist, you will have the opportunity to work on varied and adaptable projects, conducting fieldwork, surveys, and reporting.
• You will be responsible for conducting ecological surveys, identifying flora and fauna, and developing positive relationships with stakeholders.
• You will work closely with our experienced professionals to support your growth and development professionally.
• You will have opportunities to work nationally across diverse sectors on challenging projects.
About You

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Field Ecologists who meet the following criteria:
• A degree/post-graduate qualification in environmental science, botany, zoology, or a related field.
• A strong desire to work flexible hours and travel for ecological fieldwork, including extended trips in rural or remote regions.
• Experience in undertaking ecological surveys and a demonstrated passion for flora and/or fauna.
• Prior experience or knowledge of NSW Plant Community Types is highly regarded.
• Experience in developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a professional team as well as autonomously.
• Capability to effectively communicate with team members.
• Experience in GIS and electronic data capture.
