About the Role

This position involves performing a range of tasks related to vegetation management and ecological restoration. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, physical stamina and a strong desire to work outdoors.
Main Responsibilities:
• Undertake various vegetation management tasks using equipment such as chain saws and backpack sprayers.
• Conduct noxious weed control activities including herbicide application and prescribed burning.
• Record and maintain accurate data on work completed and materials used.
• Carry out additional tasks as instructed by supervisors.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
• A keen interest in learning vegetation management techniques and safe use of equipment.
• Previous experience with native and invasive plant species identification an asset.
• Practical skills in operating and maintaining heavy machinery such as tractors and trailers.
• Able to read and interpret maps and follow instructions accurately.
• Proficiency in basic computer software and mobile apps.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• A valid commercial pesticide applicator license is mandatory.
• Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.
• Proven track record of adhering to high standards of performance and conduct.
Working Conditions:
• Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
• Work outdoors for extended periods in all types of weather conditions.
