Position Title: Eastern Kentucky Field Director – Hazard Office
Schedule: The Full-Time Eastern Kentucky Field Director is anticipated to work an average of forty (40) hours per week, typically scheduled Monday through Friday. On occasion, additional hours for special events or business travel will require effort outside of standard hours.
Position Description
The Eastern Kentucky Field Director will staff the Edelen Renewables satellite office in downtown Hazard and have significant responsibility for forward-facing outreach and engagement efforts to support renewable energy development projects in the region. The Director will create a welcoming and productive work environment to advance Edelen Renewables’ objectives and regional projects alongside our development partners.
Community Engagement & Outreach
● Provide community outreach and engagement by supporting selected projects and partners to advance the Social Impact SolarSM approach in the region. This includes researching and adding value for local projects so as to leave a positive impact in the community as related to renewable energy projects.
● Respond to intercompany and third-party inquiries with detailed project-specific, general renewable energy, and coal-to-solar information and interface with office visitors. Successful candidates will be articulate, can exhibit and exercise solid communication skills, and hold a positive disposition.
● Engage Edelen Renewables’ community partners on selected special projects to advance place-based initiatives. Proactively look for and advise on opportunities to create positive impact across stakeholder groups.
● Communicate with visitors, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address or direct any concerns raised.
Project Coordination
● Support development partners in the workforce recruitment and development aspects of initiating utility scale solar projects in the region. This will entail engaging local leadership, including stakeholders in education, government, employment, and non-profit sectors. Existing experience and relationships in the region are a plus.
● Proactively engage community leaders and development partners. Schedule, coordinate, and provide general support for partners sharing the office. This will entail calendaring and proactive communication on requests to ensure shared visibility and collaboration across internal and external teams.
● Coordinate with the headquarters office in Lexington to ensure efficient, prompt internal lines of communication are open, including collaborating directly with the Vice President of Social Impact, and with the CEO, COO, and Director of Administration, as needed.
● Work with visiting staff and business partners (e.g., subcontractors, co-developers) who are authorized to utilize the office space.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
● Compile records of office activities, business transactions, special projects, and other activities, and maintain filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems in analogue and electronic format.
● Manage office upkeep and light housekeeping (e.g., trash removal, sweeping, relaying requests for supplies needed, arrange office equipment repairs, etc.).

● Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and professional office procedures such as managing files, calendars, and records. Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, online research, phone systems, printers, and Wi-Fi equipment.
Key Information:
Position will be compensated commensurate with experience. Open until filled; applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Target start date is May 1, 2025.
