Job Description
ASML is seeking an ESG Sustainability Intern for its Responsible Supply Chain Program in Veldhoven, Netherlands. The intern will support the SS&P ESG team in human rights and environmental due diligence, assisting with the Conflict Minerals Program and related projects. Candidates should be master's students in relevant fields, passionate about ESG and responsible sourcing, and able to work on-site for 4-5 days a week for a minimum of 5 months.
Introduction
As an innovation leader in the semiconductor industry, ASML wants to take its responsibility and be a top performer on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) sustainability. We are on a journey to prevent, mitigate and manage adverse environmental and human rights impacts in our supply chains. We have also started preparations to be CSDDD (Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive) compliant by 2027. To achieve this, we are maturing our human rights and environmental due diligence management system. As part of this journey an ESG team has been set-up within the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement (SS&P) organization.
Your assignment
The SS&P ESG team is looking for an intern to support its human rights & environmental due diligence program in day-to-day matters.
Key activities include:
• Act as support for the responsible Supply Chain Manager of the SS&P ESG ream.
• Assist in the Conflict Minerals Program and activities related to adherence to the Responsible Business Alliance Code of Conduct.
• Assist in other projects related to human rights & environmental due diligence that contribute to CSDDD compliance, such as data collection and improvement and risk assessments.
• Assist in conducting research on topics relevant to responsible sourcing, such as deep dives on material risks (e.g. cobalt), social themes (e.g. forced labor) and country.
Your profile
To be a perfect match for this internship, you:
• Are a master student with a background in Business Administration, HR, Legal & Compliance or something related;
• Have a great interest (and preferably experience) in ESG, human rights, corporate sustainability and responsible business conduct;
• Are enthusiastic about responsible sourcing and working with suppliers;
• Have knowledge of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights & OECD Guidelines on Responsible Business Conduct;
• Have the ability to communicate and document professionally, are flexible, have a hands-on mindset and are able to work independently.
This is a master apprentice internship for minimum 5 months for 4-5 days per week (50% on-site attendance). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.
Other requirements you need to meet:
• You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
• Attach your cover letter with a clear motivation why you are interested in this internship assignment in particular;
• You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
• If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
