Job Description
Simplot Company is seeking an ESG Reporting Manager in Boise, ID, to oversee the global ESG financial reporting processes and ensure compliance with evolving regulations. The role involves managing internal controls, collaborating with various departments, and communicating ESG data effectively to stakeholders. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, over five years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of ESG issues. The position requires building standardized processes and maintaining data integrity for accurate reporting.

Summary
The ESG Financial Reporting Manager is instrumental in establishing robust internal processes and controls to meet evolving global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulatory reporting requirements in conjunction with financial statements, or financial audits. This crucial role oversees the global ESG reporting processes and controls in compliance with evolving global regulations and standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure transparent and reliable disclosures in financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the ESG financial reporting process
• Monitor evolving global ESG reporting requirements; stays apprised of voluntary ESG reporting to ensure consistency in external financial reporting and financial audits.
• Evaluate and determine applicability of new ESG financial reporting regulations globally based on appropriate thresholds (global, legal entity, materiality, corporate size, etc.).
• Build out capability to meet mandatory ESG financial reporting requirements globally, including establishment of standardized policies and processes regarding ESG reporting.
• Manage ongoing ESG financial reporting processes for the global organization, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of ESG reporting in accordance with standards and applicable regulations.
• Support the development and maintenance of internal controls across end-to-end business processes from data source through financial disclosures to safeguard ESG data and uphold data integrity.
• Key liaison with external audit firms associated with limited and reasonable assurance over ESG reporting.
Collaboration and Communication
• Collaborate with various departments and groups within the global organization, including sustainability, regulatory affairs, operations subject matter experts, finance, and legal to ensure ESG data is complete, accurate, and appropriately supports required financial disclosures.
• Communicate complex ESG information in conjunction with financial statements to senior management, external auditors, and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Lead training sessions to raise awareness and understanding of ESG financial reporting processes, controls, and regulatory requirements across the global organization.
• Respond to inquiries from external auditors and regulators regarding ESG financial reporting.
Typical Education
• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or related field from 4-year college or university required.
Relevant Experience
• 5+ years related experience in ESG reporting in conjunction with financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, data management, or related fields.
• Experience in building and improving well-controlled processes leveraging technology that scales globally. I
• In-depth understanding of ESG issues and willingness to keep up to date with the latest global ESG guidelines and developments.
• Public accounting experience or experience with a public company as part of an ESG reporting team preferred.
Relevant Certifications
• Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA),
• Certified Sustainability Practitioner (CSP),
• Greenhouse Gas Management Institute diploma, or equivalent are preferred.
