Job Description
Caltrans is seeking an Environmental Program Manager I (Managerial) for their Redding, CA office. The role involves overseeing environmental studies, permit compliance, and resource management. The Office Chief will represent the District in significant matters and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This permanent, full-time position allows for hybrid telework arrangements. Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Regional Division Chief for Environmental, a CEA A, the incumbent serves as Office Chief for the Redding Office of Environmental. In this capacity, incumbent oversees the development of comprehensive environmental studies, permit compliance, and fulfillment of mitigation commitments. The incumbent manages the Office's resources and staffing needs; reviews environmental documents, technical reports, plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) and other records for accuracy and compliance with local, state and federal laws. The Office Chief represents the District in matters of statewide significance. The Office Chief may also serves as Acting Division Chief for North Region Environmental when delegated.
The incumbent attends and participates in meetings, conferences, and workshops to confer, advise, learn, and share technical and administrative information about project delivery and environmental compliance, as carried out by the offices to ensure it is meeting its mandated requirements and strategic objectives, as well as preparing the office to meet forthcoming statutory, regulatory, legislative and program changes.

• Collaboration and the ability to foster positive relationships are critical to the success of this position. Provide examples from your previous work experience that demonstrate your ability to develop key collaborative relationships that helped you resolve conflict and find mutually acceptable solutions to a difficult problem.
• Provide two examples that demonstrate the ability to plan and direct the work of staff or consultant; judge work quality and performance; analyze situations objectively and adopt an effective course of action.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with internal and external partners, stakeholders, and the public.
