About the position

EnSafe is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team in Bowling Green, KY. Our focus areas include Environmental Management and Planning, Civil Design Engineering, Environmental Restoration, Natural & Water Resources, Health & Safety, and Technology. The Environmental Compliance Specialists play a crucial role in evaluating the compliance status of industrial facilities, assisting them in applying for and adhering to various environmental permits, and ensuring that they meet other environmental obligations. The successful candidate will undergo training to develop the skills necessary to navigate local, state, and federal regulations. This role involves preparing labor and material estimates and proposals, performing environmental inspections at client facilities, and developing and revising various EPA and OSHA regulatory written programs, such as SPCC, stormwater plans, groundwater protection plans, and waste minimization plans. Additionally, the specialist will be responsible for completing annual EPCRA reports, performing air emission calculations and reporting, conducting regulatory research, and providing regulatory training at client facilities. The role also includes EHS sample collection, monitoring, and reporting, which encompasses soil sampling, hazardous waste characterization sampling, stormwater sampling, wastewater sampling, and industrial hygiene monitoring. Furthermore, the specialist will oversee subcontractors and manage field health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities
• Perform environmental inspections at client facilities.
,
• Develop and revise various EPA and/or OSHA regulatory written programs (SPCC, stormwater plans, groundwater protection plans, waste minimization plans, etc.).
,
• Complete annual EPCRA reports (e.g., Tier 2, Form R) and other reporting (NetDMR, EPA CDX system, etc.).
,
• Perform air emission calculations and reporting.
,
• Conduct regulatory research.
,
• Provide regulatory training at client facilities.
,
• Collect, monitor, and report EHS samples (soil sampling, hazardous waste characterization sampling, stormwater sampling, wastewater sampling, industrial hygiene monitoring).

• Oversee subcontractors and manage field health and safety.

Requirements
• BS in Environmental, Biology, Chemistry, or Equivalent Sciences.
,
• 0-3 years experience in EHS consulting (including internships).
,
• Effective written/verbal communication, presentation, and organization/analytical skills; experience writing detailed technical reports and plans.
,
• Strong organizational and time management skills while working on multiple projects for multiple clients.
,
• Detail-oriented with good listening and note-taking skills.
,
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office Programs.
,
• Valid Driver's license required.
,
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
