About the position

As an Environmental Project Planner (I, II, or III) at the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), you will be an integral part of a diverse team of professionals dedicated to the planning and development of transportation projects in Central Texas. Responsibilities
• Represent the Department regarding routine environmental issues.

• Consult and coordinate with project managers, planners, engineers, and environmental staff on project refinements to minimize environmental impacts.

• Engage with regulatory agencies, special interest groups, and the public regarding environmental resources.

• Coordinate and process permits and licenses with resource and regulatory agencies.
,
• Evaluate potential environmental impacts of transportation projects on various resources including noise, air, and biological resources.

• Prepare and review environmental schedules, scopes of work, and deliverables for project delivery.
,
• Prepare routine environmental reports and technical analyses, translating technical information into written text.
,
• Schedule and coordinate public involvement activities for environmental planning projects.
,
• Develop, write, revise, and prepare contracts and related documents for environmental studies.
,
• Conduct and coordinate field surveys and assessments for environmental technical studies.
,
• Prepare technical studies, categorical exclusions, environmental assessments, and environmental impact statements to ensure compliance with applicable laws.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in any natural or social science discipline.

• Environmental Project Planner I: No experience required.
,
• Environmental Project Planner II: 3 years of relevant experience in environmental planning or project management.

• Environmental Project Planner III: 5 years of relevant experience in environmental planning or project management.

• Valid driver's license required.
