About the position

The Energy Auditor position at Chautauqua Opportunities in Jamestown, NY, is a full-time role focused on enhancing energy efficiency and ensuring compliance with building codes in home renovation projects. The primary responsibility of the Energy Auditor is to determine the work scope for various projects, ensuring they maximize energy efficiency, provide a good return on investment, and increase property value. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality of work and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Energy Auditor will work 36 hours a week, from Monday to Thursday, with a salary range of $19.27 to $20.27 per hour. The position requires a security clearance of Access Level 3 (V,A,C,R).

Responsibilities
• Perform pre and post audits of all homes on the project list.

• Conduct health and safety testing as required by contract.

• Execute pre and post blower door tests.
,
• Create house write-ups including all measuring and drawings.
,
• Enter data in all required systems.
,
• Develop material lists for each job.
,
• Assist in reviewing data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
,
• Project staff assigned to jobs in compliance with pre-determined parameters.
,
• Schedule crews to maximize time and performance.
,
• Provide on-site quality checks of construction work, including post-audits and health and safety tests.
,
• Review and approve change work order requests.
,
• Monitor crew paperwork.
,
• Document customer, crew, and material information in agency data systems.
,
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations and monitor compliance.
,
• Stay updated on energy-efficiency construction technologies, industry standards, and local building codes.
,
• Provide guidance and direction to work crews on how to complete approved work scopes.
,
• Explain options and the purpose of proposed renovations to customers.
,
• Educate customers on energy efficiency and return on investment, connecting to reducing costs and increasing asset value.
,
• Participate in establishing procedures and parameters relative to service implementation.
,
• Promote the agency mission and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.

• Minimum of one year of experience in energy efficiency work or three years of experience in a construction-related field.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer relations skills.
,
• Strong computer skills, including word processing, data entry, and spreadsheet management in a Windows environment.

• Goal-oriented with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with diverse individuals.

• Bilingual preferred.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
