Job Description

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead our Environmental, Health & Safety program. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, thorough, and prompt. This individual will be responsible for managing safe operations throughout the manufacturing process. Successful EHS Managers are collaborative team members, demonstrating a capacity for fast-paced work, creative problem solving, and a perpetual willingness to learn. EHS Managers collaborate closely with Maintenance, Production, Quality, Warehouse, and other support functions in decision-making.

Essential Job Functions:
• Managing all aspects of the environmental and safety compliance programs to include scheduling meetings, planning milestone achievement incentives, and driving all EHS issues within the facility.
• Coach/mentor assigned department safety representatives in performing pre-shift safety meetings and enforcing safety policies and procedures throughout their assigned departments.
• Monitor and document all OSHA required logs and forms to remain in compliance.
• Monitor and manage all environmental compliance requirements across the facility.
• Set clear expectations with regards to safety processes and procedures.
• Address and funnel feedback from associates to management teams with regards to safety concerns and best practices.
• Learn and utilize ever-changing technological solutions to improve safety processes across the facility.
• Work with key members of the manufacturing and engineering teams to evaluate new equipment and processes and to assess potential safety risks.
• Travel to other company locations as needed.
• Responsible for safety compliance and reporting.
• Train team members on safety protocol and procedures for new equipment.
• Organize and manage company safety committee to share best practices between sites.
• Other duties as necessitated by the business.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:
• 5-10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong attention to detail
• Capacity for fast-paced work and adaptability to change
• Self-directed learning and retention of training
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience with behavioral-based safety programs
• Firm understanding of current OSHA regulations and guidelines
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of both state and federal OSHA safety requirements

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, or significant similar professional experience preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Be on your feet for 10-12 hours
• Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted
• Able to reach, bend, kneel and climb while performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to work in hot and cold environments
• Able to correctly wear PPE for entire shifts
• Able to react and respond quickly to noises, smells, visual hazards, and alerts
