Summary Description
EHS Manager supports all aspects of safety for Gridworks that include but are not limited to safety awareness, training, and compliance. The EHS Manager will make routine office and project site visits to assess working conditions related to safety and safety compliance. He/she will help identify safety-related issues and risks on project sites and in the office area. Once risks are identified, he/she will work with the leadership to design solutions to mitigate the exposure to those risks. This position is also responsible for maintaining the HSE (Health Safety and Environmental) manual.
Responsibilities
• Implement and oversee EHS Programs for multiple sites
• Lead all safety initiatives at the project sites to reduce risk, including training and coaching
• Proactively provide solutions for continual improvement
• Revise/update safety programs, policies, and procedures as needed
• Current knowledge of laws and regulations
• Ensure EHS documentation and systems are kept current
• Assists Project management teams with the preparation of Projects Safety Execution Plans and other plans as needed.
• Drive and Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Alignment of Safety programs, policies, and procedures where applicable across all Gridworks projects
• Ability to teach and mentor crew and apprentices regarding safety practices, policies, and procedures.
• Responsible for monitoring, documenting, and coordinating the training of Gridworks personnel as it relates to Gridworks and OSHA safety policies and requirements
• Work with and support management in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Safety Culture
• Conducts Job Safety Analysis and assists in Incident Investigations.
• Advises personnel regarding safety protocols and procedures to ensure zero injuries and regulatory compliance.
• Conducts routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of company work sites.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs through daily field audits and oversight.
• Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe work practices.
• Perform new hire training pre-project orientations and coordinate, with Gridworks administrators, all other safety-related training.
• Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop, and implement project process safety improvement(s).
• Must promote company safety culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
• Must be able to act as the company liaison for interface with customers, vendors, contractors, and Gridworks representatives.
• Must possess proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations.
• Work closely with safety managers on Worker’s Compensation claims, accident Investigations, and all safety incidents. This includes the development and implementation of corrective actions and the identification of root cause.
• Ability to develop and use analytics to support effective decision-making and continuous improvement.

• Ability to respond and adapt quickly in critical or changing situations
• Ability to respond as needed in support of all safety emergencies with or without advance notice
Supervisory Responsibilities
• This position may have supervisory responsibilities as assigned and subject to changes as business needs change.
Work Environment
• Able to work and maneuver in a construction environment.
• Working conditions: Outside work, noisy conditions, shift work, flexible hours and schedules, not afraid of heights, standing long periods, extreme temperature conditions.
Positions Type & Expected Hours Of Work
• This is a full-time position. Hours often follow those of a typical construction work week. However, you may be required the work weekends or after normal business hours from time to time.
Travel
• Ability and willingness to travel as required, estimated at 50% in New Mexico. Occasional travel to other states such as Texas, California, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Associate degree or higher preferred
• Must possess a minimum of five (5) years experience in Heavy Industrial and/or Solar projects
• Knowledge of CALOSHA state regulations
• Current status as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer
• CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred
• CSHO- Certified Safety & Health Official preferred
• NFPA 70E Certification or can be obtained within six months from the date of hire
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• Must have experience leading safety programs across multiple locations.
• A valid driver’s license is required and insurable by Affordable Solar’s Insurance provider
• Ability to speak Bilingual (English and Spanish) language preferred but not required.
• Strong Knowledge of LOTO procedures and practices.
