EHS Manager - Your future role?
As the EHS Manager in Johannesburg, you will direct and support management of all Environmental, Health and Safety functions for a site, in compliance with Givaudan EHS processes, and with all applicable EHS regulations. You will manage risk and driving cultural change to reduce the probability of EHS incidents and improve the EHS organisation to deliver added value to the organisation. You will also promote the EHS culture across the organisation.
You will report to the Head of Operations.
You will:
• Support and advice site management on all EHS aspects; act as a coach to line managers to ensure that EHS becomes and remains a line responsibility
• Develop EHS vision aligned with company strategy for the site taking into account both the OPS/EHS Global Strategy/programs and the local legislation
• Manage compliance with all EHS Regulations
• Responsible for all Site EHS trainings for our employees and contractors
• Deploy behaviour-based safety programmes
• Ensure safety and Health programmes are strictly implemented
• Ensure emergency planning is effective
• Complete and submit regulatory reports
• Ensure Measurement reporting is complete and initiate actions to move towards the agreed targets
• Track site safety behavioural audits and incidents, analyse trends on audits, incidents and near miss reports and report same to management team
• Lead you safety committee to promote safety awareness and improve the safety of the site by guiding issues identified to closure
• Manage all hazardous and non-hazardous waste activities
• Manage all documentation required
• Maintain good relationships with relevant external partners (authorities/communities/network)
• Be the primary contact for Federal, State, and local EHS regulatory agencies
• Be the main contact with other department: Regulatory, IT, regional Management Team
You have:
• University degree in chemistry, Engineering, EHS or other related field
• 5+ years of experience in the industry and prior experience in an EHS plant
• Appropriate country EHS qualification/certifications (NOSA)
• Fluent English
• Major Hazard Installation (MHI), Risk Prevention, Business Continuity Plan
• Familiar with HOP Principles
• Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Control
• Root Cause Analysis
• Process Safety Management
• Audit
• H+S Management
• Emergency Management
