Core Responsibilities
• Safety Leadership: Spearhead our compliance efforts by devising and updating safety programs tailored to each facility. Facilitate engaging training sessions for new hires and ongoing education for our workforce, fostering a "Safety First" mindset.
• Incident Management: Lead thorough investigations into incidents using Root Cause Analysis, ensuring timely corrective actions. Oversee the distribution and proper use of personal protective equipment and manage emergency preparedness programs.
• Continuous Improvement: Conduct internal safety audits and drive enhancements in workplace safety and ergonomics. Collaborate with HR and management on injury case management and workers' compensation processes.
• Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to identify trends and focus areas, reducing injury and illness rates. Ensure accurate OSHA reporting and serve as the go-to expert for EHS matters during inspections.
• Fleet Operations: Partner with the transportation team to maintain FMCSA compliance and enhance fleet safety through training and policy development.
• Environmental Stewardship: Ensure adherence to EPA regulations, manage hazardous chemical reporting, and participate in environmental audits.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; certification as a safety professional is advantageous.
• At least 7 years of experience in EHS management within manufacturing and distribution settings. Fleet safety experience is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and practices. Familiarity with DOT and EPA standards is preferred.
• Proven track record in delivering impactful training and developing EHS programs that foster a positive safety culture.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with experience in building and leading an EHS team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with technology-driven training and auditing tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time and be available beyond regular working hours.
