EH&S Intern

Ardagh Group is seeking an EH&S Intern in Chicago, IL, to assist with environmental, health, and safety compliance. Responsibilities include conducting risk assessments, developing Job Safety Analysis documents, investigating incidents, and supporting ISO 45001 assessments. Candidates should be pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a preferred 3.0 GPA, possess strong communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. This is a full-time internship.
Purpose of the Job:
• The EHS Intern will support various aspects of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance across the organization. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, safety management systems, and more.

Responsibilities and Duties:
• Assist in conducting thorough risk assessments in the workplace.
• Help review and develop Job Safety Analysis (JSA) documents for specific tasks to ensure safe work practices are followed.
• Participate in investigating workplace incidents, including accidents and near-misses, to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the ongoing maintenance of the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system.
• Assist with ISO 45001 assessments at various sites.
• Contribute to the ISO 45001 Systems Management Integration.

Requirements
• Currently pursuing a Bachelors’ degree from a 4-year accredited university
• 3.0 GPA- highly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience conducting research
• Self-starter
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to follow policies and procedures
