Job Description

Cambridge University Press is seeking a Diversity & Inclusion Assistant Intern for an 8-week internship in Cambridge, UK. The role involves supporting the EDIB team, organizing events, coordinating communication campaigns, producing reports, and conducting research on diversity and inclusion. Candidates should possess strong organizational, communication, and research skills, and have a passion for EDIB. The position requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Job Title: Diversity & Inclusion Assistant Intern

Payment: £22,222 per annum full time equivalent (prorated for your 8-week internship, non-negotiable)

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2 days per week in the office minimum)

Contract: Full Time (35 hours per week) / Fixed Term (8 weeks)

Placement dates: 14th July – 5th September 2025

About the role

As a D&I Assistant Intern, you will work within the EDIB (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging) team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, supporting the implementation of their Global EDIB Strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Organising and administering EDIB activities/events, including supporting Global Staff Networks.
• Coordinating internal and external communication campaigns on EDIB and maintaining website/intranet content.
• Leading the coordination, administration, and promotion of EDIB events, seminars, and workshops.
• Producing regular EDIB reports to share insights.
• Assisting in the preparation of EDIB surveys and award submissions.
• Researching key areas of global EDIB and producing internal/external resources.
• Developing videos to promote EDIB, sharing stories from colleagues and key stakeholders.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of a global staff EDIB survey.
• Supporting key integration change programs, such as employee experience, hybrid working, policy reviews, recruitment, learning & development, health & safety, and well-being.

Skills:
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and coordinate multiple events, activities, and projects efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Proficiency in both written and verbal communication to effectively convey EDIB messages and maintain website/intranet content.
• Research Skills: Capability to conduct research on global EDIB topics and produce informative resources.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with creating videos and using digital tools for communication campaigns.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to produce reports and analyse data.
• Administrative Skills: Competence in handling administrative tasks related to event planning and coordination.

Qualities:
• Passionate about EDIB: A genuine interest in promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and belonging within the organization.
• Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail in organizing events and producing reports.
• Proactive: Initiative to take on tasks and contribute to the implementation of the EDIB strategy.
• Collaborative: Ability to work well within a team and support global staff networks.
• Adaptable: Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment and handle various tasks as needed.

What to expect

Successful applicants will then be invited to an interview, and if selected, you'll join us for an exciting 8-week programme starting on Monday, 14th July, and ending on Friday, 5th September. You can expect an update on your interview, if you're successful you will receive a placement offer. We will ask for acceptance responses by 30th May
