About the position

The District Energy System Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the District Energy System (DES) that serves the medical, educational, and research facilities on the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Campus. This role is vital for ensuring the safety, comfort, and general wellbeing of patients, students, and employees. The operator will also assist with any problems or emergencies related to facility issues on campus.

Responsibilities
• Operate, maintain, and repair the District Energy System (DES) on the UAMS Campus.

• Assist with problems and emergencies related to facility issues.

• Ensure the safety and comfort of patients, students, and employees through effective system management.

Requirements
• High School Diploma/GED.

• Five years of boiler house operations experience.
,
• Valid Driver's License with fewer than 12 points on the Motor Vehicle Record.

• Arkansas High Pressure Boiler License.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience operating a District Energy Plant.

• 6-10 years of experience as a boiler operator.

• Experience with BMS controls.

• Centrifugal Chiller experience.

• Knowledge of central plant operations.

• Medium voltage electrical safety knowledge.
