Job Description
Climate United Fund is seeking full-time Investment Officers for its Distributed Energy Finance team. Responsibilities include developing investment strategies, evaluating opportunities, conducting due diligence, and enhancing industry presence. Candidates should have 3+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to environmental stewardship. The role requires occasional travel and in-office collaboration at least quarterly, primarily in the New York City or Washington, DC area.
About Climate United Fund
Climate United Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization seeking several full-time Investment Officers who will be instrumental in launching and managing our investment portfolios focused on distributed generation, building decarbonization, and zero emissions transportation.
You will work closely with our team to develop and implement sectoral target markets and investment strategies. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Developing and implementing sectoral target markets and investment strategies.
• Identifying and evaluating potential investment opportunities.
• Conducting thorough due diligence on projects and transaction partners.
• Leading financial modeling and risk assessment activities.
• Contributing to the development of investment policies and guidelines.
• Assisting in managing actively monitored assets and troubleshooting issues.
• Enhancing Climate United's industry presence through networking and communication efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• 3+ years of experience in renewable energy, commercial/investment banking, structured/project finance or private equity.
• Strong project management and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field.
• Demonstrated commitment to environmental stewardship and social justice.
• Passionate about the mission and work of Climate United, Calvert Impact, and committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily within the US, and ability to work from the New York City or Washington, DC area or be willing to come into the office at least quarterly for team collaboration.
