Job Description

The Climate Source is seeking a Director of Programs in Orland, ME, to lead supply chain program strategies, particularly in dairy and livestock. Responsibilities include developing governance frameworks, managing client projects, and supporting business development. The ideal candidate should have experience in project management and communication, with a focus on creating scalable program structures. This role requires collaboration with the CEO and COO to execute the company’s vision.
The Climate Source is a specialty consulting firm with expertise in agricultural supply chain programs, carbon accounting, and co-financing strategy. Our team tackles complex, critical issues to advance our food and farming systems towards climate resilience. We apply systems design principles, facilitation skills, strategic planning, and our deep understanding of supply chains, agricultural policy, and market dynamics to develop practical and scalable solutions. TCS leverages decades of experience developing market-based solutions for agricultural systems change.

Our BoundDairy Accounting platform launched in 2025 to provide dairy supply chain companies with the critical tools needed for carbon accounting across the value chain, including data management, project and inventory reporting, and carbon asset monetization capabilities.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team to design and implement our programs strategy. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a high paced environment that balances technical expertise with practical execution. We are looking for someone that excels in an environment where we are providing high quality consulting services while building the internal infrastructure to scale.
Director of Programs

The Director of Programs will be responsible for leading the strategy and tactical execution of our supply chain programs. Primarily in dairy and livestock supply chains, the Director oversees our program and project development strategy to support decarbonization investment and reporting. In addition to developing the core program assets, such as governance systems, client-facing program strategies, and internal capabilities, the Director of Programs will be responsible for client project management, industry engagement, and communications that support business development and overall TCS brand value. This person will work closely with the CEO and COO to clarify the vision and then develop and execute the strategy in collaboration with the Director of Product & Data. They will also support business development and industry engagement efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities


The core functions of the role include

● Develop program governance frameworks for decarbonized supply chains

● Conduct intake process, workshops and analyses to support decision-making with clients navigating evolving market opportunities

● Manage clients and team collaboration to execute efficiently with high quality deliverables reflecting client goals and TCS overarching strategy

● Integrate program functions with carbon accounting platform, including data access, claims attribution, and monetization strategy

● Publish marketing and communication assets to inform broad audience about our methodology, approach, and benefits for farmers, suppliers, buyers, and investors

● Support internal processes to align with the vision and strategy of TCS’s founders and team

● Support business development efforts, including outreach, proposal writing, and networking
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

The role requires a self-starter with a track record of small team collaboration, client-facing project management, and exceptional communication skills. Importantly, this individual must have experience developing programmatic structures that are repeatable, scalable and customizable to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders. Candidates must have knowledge of carbon accounting and decarbonization programs, with preference for experience in dairy and livestock agriculture. We are seeking a person that wants to join a team of passionate and hard-working individuals who are building a company while delivering very high quality services to our clients. While we aim to give each other autonomy and problem-solving authority, we also need highly collaborative people that are willing to pivot, adapt, and take direction.
Qualifications & Experience


Ideal candidates have 7-10 years of professional experience working in the areas of: carbon accounting, supply chain programs, sustainable sourcing, food and agriculture systems, on-farm project development, and project management. Direct experience in dairy and livestock preferred.
Work Environment*

The role is a remote position with some travel required for team meetings (2-3 times per year in the Boston-area), client meetings (2-4 per year), and industry events (2-3 per year). The majority of our team is based on the East Coast and we have some EU clients. The role allows for a flexible daily schedule, but with the expectations that you are available during typical weekday hours. We are open to both consulting or employment structures.
