Job Description
Valley Solar LLC seeks a Director of Marketing to lead and execute integrated marketing strategies, brand development, and demand generation programs. The role involves collaboration across teams to enhance customer experiences and optimize digital presence. Key qualifications include 6–10 years in marketing leadership, strong SEO and content marketing skills, and experience with marketing tools. The position is based in Easthampton, MA, indicating it is not remote.
Fast-moving, mission-driven clean energy company seeking a marketing leader to drive strategy and execution.
Valley Solar is looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of Marketing to lead and scale our brand, content, and demand generation programs—while helping us bring key products like our SunAlert monitoring subscriptions, customer portal, redesigned website, and AI-driven CX to market.
At Valley Solar, we're building a Lean Ops Team that brings together Marketing, Product, Design, and Development as one high-impact, cross-functional unit. We'll work collaboratively to build and deliver customer-centric experiences—fast. This role sits within a flat, agile structure where every team member is empowered to lead, execute, and innovate using modern tools and AI-driven workflows. No silos, no bloated org charts—just smart, motivated people solving real problems together. While we value the collaboration and opportunities that an on-site team offers, what we value most is talent and domain expertise, and are flexible in those cases.
As Director of Marketing, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our customer journey, optimizing our digital presence, growing awareness across local and regional markets, and building a GTM framework to expand into new markets.
What You'll Own
• Integrated Marketing Strategy: Build and execute 6–12 month growth plans aligned to company OKRs across digital, brand, content, and paid channels.
• Brand & Content Leadership: Shape our brand voice and storytelling across web, social, email, and print. Manage content calendars, campaigns, and creative assets.
• SEO & Local Visibility: Lead tactical SEO strategy focused on high-intent local queries and AI-search optimized EEAT content.
• Paid Media Management: Plan and optimize a lean paid media budget across Google Ads, Meta, and traditional media. Own performance reporting and ROI analysis.
• Web & Conversion Optimization: Partner with web team to manage CRO testing, messaging hierarchy, and landing page strategy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Customer Experience, Product, and Operations to build GTM campaigns and feedback loops.
• Team Building: Help grow and manage internal and external contributors (designers, content writers, contractors).
• AI & Automation Integration: Pilot new tools and workflows to scale CX, reporting, and marketing automation.
Key Qualifications
• 6–10 years of experience in marketing leadership, ideally in a growth-stage company or mission-driven environment.
• Proven ability to balance strategic planning and tactical execution.
• Strong experience in SEO, content marketing, brand positioning, and performance media.
• Hands-on experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp) and CRM (Salesforce preferred).
• Experience running integrated campaigns that align brand, demand gen, and CX.
• A growth mindset, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Why Join Valley Solar
• Be part of a company with a mission to provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy through a policy driven by a customer-first approach and delivering the highest-standards of service.
• Work in a lean, empowered team where you have autonomy in your domain and the opportunity to drive strategy and solutions.
• Be part of a company in a high-growth phase, driven by big ideas and an environment that nurtures continuous innovation and improvement.
